During this year’s Pitti Uomo, Givenchy took the opportunity to announce their latest venture into high street fashion. Recruiting Japanese sportswear brand Onitsuka Tiger, the Parisian house launched some wicked looking sneakers.
Dubbed as the Mexico 66 GDX, these collaborative pairs came in two variants. The all white and the black with red and white accents.
Both shows Onitsuka’s signature cross stripes on one side of each shoe and a “Givenchy” lettering made of pin-holes on the other. The heel tab bears both brand’s emblem, cementing the exclusivity furthermore.
The collaboration marks a milestone for both brands. Not only that it’s their first time working together, it’s also Givenchy’s first team up with another brand to produce footwears. While for Onitsuka, it’s their first cooperation with a household name in high-fashion.
We don’t know about you, but even if we didn’t know it’s their first time, we wouldn’t know the difference. Classy and sleek – we’d sport this over any ugly sneakers anytime of the year.
