Despite being a remake of 1996’s water-centric Acqua di Gio, Giorgio Armani’s new fragrance only has a toned-down marine element
Instead, the new perfume, Acqua di Gio Essenza, looks for other sources to achieve the freshness it wants to convey. The result is a perfume that is more woody than aquatic; an intense representation of the original. By focusing more on woody and embery cords, Acqua di Gio Essenza has been dubbed “carnal and sensual.”
Befitting such a scent, the fragrance’s campaign features one of the world’s top male models, Simon Nessman, in striking photos shot by the masterful Bruce Weber.
