Garmin Introduces an Esports-Focused Smartwatch

The American tech company has revealed a new esports smartwatch — the Instinct Esports Edition — designed to help players track and livestream biometric data.

Video game streamers can now track and livestream biometric data, then broadcast those stats to their fans, thanks to the Esports Instinct smartwatch. This new smartwacth combines health and fitness tracking technology with custom features designed for gamers. Using its dedicated esports activity function, the smartwatch can track and analyze heart rate and stress levels during matches, as well as spotting long-term trends.

Garmin’s stated that “with the Instinct Esports Edition, esports athletes can tap into that same technology to track and examine how their body responds to intense competition. Players can also use Instinct’s data to make adjustments in their daily lives, whether it be altering sleep patterns or activity levels, which can result in increased cognitive and physical performance during play.”

With the STR3AMUP! function, players can update viewers on their live stress levels and heart rate when they are playing crucial match-ups. The watch can also be synced to a smartphone for notifications. An additional function includes a Body Battery Energy Monitor, which factors in sleep and body metrics to determine your energy health — letting the players know if they should be resting or playing.

Dan Bartel, Garmin Vice President of Sales expressed: “Elite athletes around the world depend on Garmin products to monitor and improve their performance. With the Instinct Esports Edition, esports athletes can tap into that same technology to track and examine how their body responds to intense competition. Players can also use Instinct’s data to make adjustments in their daily lives, whether it be altering sleep patterns or activity levels, which can result in increased cognitive and physical performance during play.”
