REAL STEEL. In anticipation of the arrival of the iWatch, emerging brand Pebble has already won crowds of followers with its innovative smartwatch.
Breaking Kickstarter’s records in 2012 for the amount of crowdfunding it received, it released the first Pebble watch only a year later. The smartwatch flashes text, email and phone call notifications from a wirelessly connected smartphone and allows one to control music playback from the wrist. But one big problem: the ugly plastic exterior. Lo and behold, the new Pebble Steel watch that comes to the aid of the previous model with a solid steel case and leather strap or steel bracelet. While internally this gadget is identical to the previous one, Pebble now has an app store packed with interesting applications for the Pebble Steel to download.
