THE FAB IN OUR STARS. In terms of rocking red-carpet outfits, the ladies obviously have more creative choices, but this year’s Oscars featured some standout looks from the gentlemen. Here are the actors who looked best
Guy-next-door Chris Pratt showed us proof that you don’t need flashy tricks to pull off a classic red-carpet look. With his arguably simplistic appearance, the “Guardians of the Galaxy” actor might have come off as too plain, but that’s not the case: He exuded a classic gentlemanly appeal with his neutral Tom Ford black tuxedo and white shirt.
Rising star Miles Teller walked on the red carpet with a smile and confident style. Even though he chose a classic take on suiting with his Prada ensemble, his successful experiment with the recently popular midnight blue just can’t be overlooked. Alongside girlfriend Keleigh Sperry, the “Whiplash” actor appeared even more debonair with a Montblanc Heritage Chronométrie on his wrist.
Neil Patrick Harris
Neil Patrick Harris was da bomb at this year’s Academy Awards. Yes, the guy changed outfits many times throughout the show. But the “How I Met Your Mother” actor deserved praise, as everything he wore was spot-on. In particular, he struck a high note with dandy styling in a gray shawl-collared suit by Brunello Cucinelli when he walked the red carpet with his husband, David Burtka.
“The Imitation Game” award-winning actor Benedict Cumberbatch never fails to looking immaculately dashing on red carpets. During the last Oscars, he was one of the few actors who donned white tuxedos. Even better, Cumberbatch wore a white shawl-collared tux and black pants, all by Scabal. While it could have come off as “waitery,” the actor, alongside his new bride Sophie Hunter, hit it off just right with the right amount of panache.
Of all the thespians attending the prestigious award shows, David Oyelowo has quite possibly been the most impressive attendee. During the Oscars, the “Selma” actor courageously pushed the envelope on red-carpet styling with the choice of marsala-colored suit, complete with a vest and a brooch. The combination is daring, to say the least, yet it really paid off. And yes, the fact that the outfit is all by Dolce & Gabbana did help.
