The first-ever Fashion Carnival in Indonesia was organized for October 22, 2010 by DA MAN magazine and Prestige magazine and held at Jakarta’s fashion emporium, Plaza Indonesia. Here are some of the highlights.

A|X and CK do the FC in style

The A|X Armani Exchange and ck Calvin Klein boutiques were both hot places to see and be seen during the inaugural Fashion Carnival on October 22 at Plaza Indonesia. A|X had a live DJ in the evening that got some people moving to the groove, and they also gave away a duffel bag to big-spending customers. Calvin Klein also had a similar give-away in addition to a glamorous fashion show presenting the world-famous brand’s fall-winter collection with lovely models that everybody staring at them as much as the clothes.

Beauty and the Gc

Glów-Living Beauty, the mega-boutique, was the virtual epicenter of Fashion Carnival 2010, celebrating in fine style by rolling out four sessions of beauty workshop from Shu Uemura and Biotherm Homme. With each product demonstrated twice, guests enjoyed cocktails and cupcakes as they participated in the events hosted by Haseena Mukhi, designer Andrea Risjad and others. Lustro, meanwhile, made sure their guests saw what it is like to ‘dress to impress’ by inviting Mike Lewis, Nicholas Saputra, Aimee Juliette and Sasha Cafrin for cocktails. Every visiting guest was granted a special shopping voucher as they waited in line to pose with the celebrities in front of the brand’s logo. The celebration continued at Gc watches as they presented a performance from DJ Shawn and fashionable watches with gorgeous models. Guests enjoyed wine and refreshments as they mingled around the party with their special 30 percent discount privilege courtesy of Gc.

Bags and watches go glam at FC

High-class leather goods brand Hunting World and watch brands Vabene, Longines and Tissot were also prominent at the Fashion Carnival. Hunting World featured its latest hip collection of bags during a sultry trunk show. Tissot was in on it too, giving away rucksacks with any purchase. Longines also got into the act, by handing out aromatherapy candles and shawls to all buyers. Vabene, the Italian “glam rock” watch brand was a very popular spot because they were giving away Prosecco-flavored gelato and had a lucky draw called the “Glam Bowl of Blings or Dings,” which had lots of cool novelties to pick up.

Celebrity style

Taking center stage during Fashion Carnival 2010 at La Moda Café on level 1 of Plaza Indonesia, Raoul organized a splendid fashion show featuring the brand’s fall-winter 2010 collection. It was hosted by the delightful Aimee Juliette and suave Roland Adam; and the classy guests enjoyed wine and canapés all around. Raoul also put on special promos for selected items. Meanwhile, The Time Place was a veritable celebrities’ night out as their “Celebrity Auction” included rally driver Rifat Sungkar, Susan Bachtiar, Mesty Ariotedjo, Zivanna Siregar, Adhika Maxi & KC, Marcelino Lefrandt and Barli Asmara to complement their glamorous, world-class timepieces. All this served a noble cause, as the proceeds from the auction went to the Indonesian Heart Foundation.

Fashion fiesta

After all the festivities and glamorous fun of the day-long Fashion Carnival 2010 on October 22, the wildly successful event came to a rousing conclusion during the official After Party at Burgundy bar/lounge in the Grand Hyatt hotel. The party also marked the draw and announcement of the winner of a trip to Tokyo. Haseena Mukhi was the lucky winner of a pair of Garuda Indonesia business class tickets to Tokyo and a four-night stay at the Grand Hyatt Tokyo. Other prizes included vouchers from Grand Hyatt and Plaza Indonesia. Celebrities, socialites, high-end shoppers, party animals and fashionistos all mingled excitedly as they enjoyed wine and snacks in the stylish lounge/bar. Highlighting the long guest list were former DA MAN Darlings and cover guys, such as Rahmah Umayya and Indra Bruggman.
