BAMBOO TO THE RESCUE. For Gucci, its hardest times are also one of its defining moments. During the World War II when the material for handbags became scarce, the Italian fashion house sourced bamboo from Japan as an alternative for their bag handle.
The use of bamboo then develops throughout the creations of the brand as an iconic accent to their eyewear pieces. But do not imagine an outrageous take on the natural material just yet, because in Gucci’s latest model it looks almost discreet. The bamboo shade is closer to dark ruthenium identical to the color of the frame as a result of combustion process. The sunglasses are available at Optik Melawai.
