INDONESIAN EXPORT. Foodies of Hong Kong will be delighted to hear that they now have the Southeast Asian cuisine of celebrated chef Will Meyrick within their city limits.
The renowned streetfood chef has teamed up with Hong Kong’s Dining Concepts Group to open Mama San Hong Kong (1/F, 46 Wyndham Street, Central, Hong Kong; +85 22 881 8901; www.diningconcepts.com), bringing in chefs and staffers from the original Seminyak location to ensure a smooth transition. A reworked Indonesian- and Indian-influenced menu includes highlights like Betel Leaf Stuffed with Pomelo, Roasted Coconut and Diced Lime, Sambal-Spiced Babi Guling (suckling pig) and Goan Mud Crab in Coconut Curry. Like its predecessor, Mama San Hong Kong sports a rustic, old world ambiance with vintage Shanghai décor and wooden furnishings from Bali.
