Easy Cocktail Recipes From Penfolds Max’s

If you ever find yourself thinking about doing cocktail hours at home, Penfolds has two easy-to-follow recipes for you to try. Both cocktails, by the way, are crafted to highlight the latest creations from Penfolds Max’s.

Imagine you’re working (or just staying) at home; its 8 0′ clock and all of sudden you feel that a great cocktail is in order. But, of course, social distancing and lockdowns brought about by the pandemic means that you can’t just go out and order one. Plus, you’re probably thinking about all the effort that would go into making one yourself. If that’s the case, though, worry not, because Australian winemaker Penfolds has come up with two easy-to-follow cocktail recipes based on its latest offerings. There’s the “Twist and Shout” and the “Open a New Chapter.”

Both state-of-the-art cocktails were introduced a while back when Penfolds hosted an an exclusive evening at The M Bar, Altitude at The Plaza, titled “Penfolds Max’s Neon Nights.” Each cocktail is crafted to highlight the distinctive taste of Penfold Max’s Chardonnay and the Penfolds Max’s Shiraz, which are part of Penfolds’ latest “Max’s” collection.

The collection itself pays tribute to the brand’s first chief winemaker, Max Schubert, and to honor his dedication towards the craft. Now, you can enjoy two of Penfolds Max’s wine and cocktail connoisseur-approved recipes in the comfort and safety of your own home.

OPEN A NEW CHAPTER

Open a New Chapter” is a Penfolds Max’s interpretation of the classic Negroni with a Shiraz Reduction, Gin, Campari, Sweet Vermouth and citrus, to which the Shiraz blends in flavors of nutmeg and cinnamon.

  • 20 ml Penfolds Max’s Shiraz Reduction
  • 20 ml London Dry Gin
  • 20 ml Campari
  • 20 ml Sweet Vermouth

Stir with ice and strain. Garnish with rose petals and dry orange.

TWIST & SHOUT

“Twist & Shout” is a tangy drink made with the fruity Max’s Chardonnay, Gin, Campari and Chilli Lychee Syrup. The chardonnay adds a fruity edge, with the slight sweetness of lime.

  • 20 ml Penfolds Max’s Chardonnay
  • 45 ml Gin
  • 15 ml Campari
  • 10 ml Chilli Lychee Syrup

Stir all ingredients in a mixing glass, strain into an old fashioned glass. Garnish with lemon peel and serve with ice cubes.
