Fashion titans Kim Jones of Dior menswear and Shawn Stussy have collaborated once more to deliver another streetwear-infused Dior collection.
For this collaboration, the duo have looked to Chinese New Year aesthetics for inspiration. Celebrating the Year of the Ox, the Chinese New Year Dior Men’s Capsule collection revolves around the symbols of the year with a touch of Dior elegance and Stussy skate-style.
Coming off of a successful collaboration of clothing and footwear items for Dior’s fall 2020 campaign, the collection will continue to highlight the iconic Shawn Stussy graphic. The hybrid branding presents the Dior name scrawled in its signature graffiti font.
While carrying over design tweaks from Jones and Stussy’s last collab, pieces from the Chinese New Year Dior Men’s Capsule collection are embellished with appliqué oxen, standing tall on everything from jackets to sneakers. The series alternates heavily between the navy and red colorway and includes hoodies, sweaters and button-up shirts that feature the ox head silhouette. More modest tastes are also catered with T-shirts, pins and a collared navy jacket, where only the Dior logo is visible, as well as a bright red hood, where the original “CD” logo is subtly stitched into the front.
The collection also features accessories such as a navy blue backpack which comes with a removable badge of the ox silhouette. For sneakers, the collaboration has resurrected the logo-mania high tops, this time with added red and navy festive touches. Seen plastered on the jacquard scarf and tie, the Dior x Stussy branding pattern continues to make a statement in this collection.
