Diesel Introduces SS20 Eco-Conscious Denim Line

Posted on

Back in January, Diesel launched its “For Responsible Living” initiative to mark the brand’s commitment to become more respectful of the environment, all while staying true to its DNA. Now, as part of its SS20 collection, the Italian retail company has introduced several new denim styles that’s been produced with sustainability in mind.

Diesel says that its latest denim offerings for men and women have been created using “innovative techniques” that would significantly reduce the carbon footprint—water use and chemicals in particular—of the production process. Compared to traditional methods, here the garments are treated with a minimal amount of GreenScreen-certified chemicals, while water usage is also reduced by up to 40 percent.

For its men’s collection, Diesel offers three style options that’s divided between slim and regular fits. Alongside the straight leg D-VIDER finished with eco-friendly wash 092X, the collection also includesthe  D-STRUKT slim fit jeans that’s available in two versions: One is finished with wash 09AR which reduces water use by 180 liters and creates a classic vintage light blue aged effect with a DIESEL-specific patina, while the other uses wash 093J which uses 360 liters less, resulting in a classic DIESEL dirty vintage wash.

To further highlight its environmental effort, each pair of these Diesel denims will have a hangtag with the message: “This Made in Italy garment has been produced responsibly. Using Diesel partners’ innovative techniques, we limited the use of water and chemicals from fabric manufacturing to washing and treatments, making it a respectful denim with Diesel DNA.”
