Coup attempt in Singapore as a new chic tippling venue graces the Sky Park atop Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. In speaking with Ku De Ta in Bali in mid-2010, they hinted that we’d see another Ku De Ta somewhere soon. My suspicion was that it’d be Jakarta, but Singapore, and specifically Marina Bay Sands resort/casino, has scored a big coup in landing this Balinese icon.
As most readers know, it doesn’t get much chicer than Bali’s famed Ku De Ta and the marriage of this new KU DÉ TA (65/6688-7688)—with the e-acute accent to, seemingly, distinguish itself—located at the jaw-dropping Sky Park atop Marina Bay Sands is a dream come true for style mavens. Some of the highlights: the opening hours are 6 a.m. until 4 a.m. daily (work that one out) and it’s utterly huge, occupying a primo spot. To wit:
It’s over 14,500 square feet of space with three main areas, a club lounge, a restaurant and the poolside terrace. In the kitchen is award-winning chef Dan Segall, famously of Zuma in Hong Kong. Segall’s addition to the Singapore culinary scene has foodies going out of their minds. He will be complemented by sommelier Dario Buonavoglia, previously of London’s Michelin-starred Hakkasan. The club is also in good hands with critically acclaimed musical director Vinnie Quek and his stable of DJs keeping party animals sated. This is one coup that party loyalists from all quarters can rejoice about. – Dino Moriartie
Update: There may be a name change as there seems to be a dispute between the owners of the Bali establishment and this Marina Bay Sands establishment.
