For this special collection Louboutin partners up two of the brand’s long-time friends, Idris and Sabrina Elba
Christian Louboutin’s friendship with Idris and Sabrina Elba goes beyond the launch of the Walk A Mile In My Shoes collection. The capsule collection was created to raise awareness about racial injustice and give back to the lives of individuals and communities whose voices matter yet are often unheard. They looked for inspiration from historic leaders such as Martin Luther King Jr. and Nelson Mandela – figures who have dedicated their lives to the fight for justice, equality and freedom.
These inspiring notes were then channeled into a two-chapter collection. The collection features Strelitzia reginae “Mandela’s Gold,” a beautiful plant that has come to symbolize empathy, hope and freedom. Now it becomes a powerful statement in the Walk A Mile In My Shoes. The statement appears in a script motif, evocative in Louboutin red and originating from a visit Idris Elba paid to the Martin Luther King Jr. memorial in Los Angeles.
A hundred percent of the proceeds made from this 20-piece capsule collection will go directly to five non-profit organizations chosen by the trio.
