Chopard Unveils Its Latest Collection: The Alpine Eagle

Chopard launches its new collection titled The Alpine Eagle. Contemporary, streamlined, and assertive, the new sport-chic Alpine Eagle timepiece collection is a contemporary reinterpretation of St. Moritz, the first watch created by Karl-Friedrich Scheufele—Co-President of Chopard—back in 1980.

Looking back, when it was first introduced in 1980, the St. Moritz stood out for both its material classification and unique design. Inspired by the active lifestyles and discerning tastes of a sophisticated Alpine elite, St. Moritz was the Maison’s first sports watch and remains a highly sought-after model to this day. In short, with this iconic design, Chopard paved the way for a new kind of sport-chic timepiece, a type of luxury designed to be used and experienced.

The first version of St Moritz

As for today, the Alpine Eagle was inspired by his passion for the Alps and the imperious strength of the majestic eagle. Crafted in an exclusive, ultra-resistant, light-reflective steel called Lucent Steel A223 by the hands of their master artisans, the bracelet of the Alpine Eagle is an exquisite and meticulously conceived combination of form and function. It also comprises a single ingot-shaped link, topped by a raised central cap reminiscent of its mountain biotope.

Inside, true to Karl-Friedrich Scheufele’s deep commitment to fine watchmaking, the chronometer-certified movements in the heart of Alpine Eagle watches have been developed exclusively in Chopard’s watchmaking workshops and chronometer-certified by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute.

On the other hand, as we can see upfront, the textured dial evokes an eagle’s iris and its hands call to mind the raptor’s feathers. Embellished with a sunburst motif, the galvanic blue or grey brass dial inspired by the iris of an eagle, reminds us that Nature is the most gifted of all muses.

To top it off, in order to evoke a spirit of adventure, the crown is engraved with a compass rose, an instrument that has helped adventurers find their way since ancient times. Today, it becomes the emblem of contemporary eagles capable of choosing the right direction in the pursuit of their destiny, an invitation to explore the majesty of the natural world that surrounds us.

Above all, this new collection from Chopard comes with a wealth of references to the Alpine eagle and its biotope. Also, every component of the Alpine Eagle has been meticulously conceived and designed in harmony with nature. With that being said, it’s safe to say that every aspect of this new collection is the result of the unparalleled Artisans of Emotion of the Maison Chopard.
