SILENT PERSUASION. Little quiet and standoffish, Booboo Stewart is a man of few words. Yet, there is something in his searching eyes that reveal much more than words could express

A deep, intense gaze and a thoughtful pause before answering each interview question, the contemplative actor is one who says what he means and means what he says. The stillness and quietude in him, rather than putting him in the back seat, only intensify his allure. His role as a shape-shifter in the “Twilight” films was a perfect match, and just when it seems that Stewart could face the dangers of being type-casted as the dark, brooding type, he unexpectedly revealed a story of touring with pre-“Wrecking Ball” Miley Cyrus, when the singer was better known as Disney’s Hannah Montana back then. The stark contrast between his quiet personality and his role as a part of the Disney teen sensation leads to more questions to who Stewart really is. The many facets of the dark-haired actor seem deeply buried and only the select few have access to it. To get to know Booboo Stewart could be achieved not by asking questions, but through his performances and the roles he carefully selected, which afforded glimpses of the enigmatic actor’s persona. Cool, calm and collected, the twenty- year-old actor opens up about being a martial artist, having superhuman abilities and how he got his catchy nickname.
DA MAN: Hi Booboo, how’s it going? Let’s talk about the recently released “X-Men:
Days of Future Past” film. You played the character Warpath, an indestructible mutant. How did you get into the mindset of someone who possessed a superhuman ability?
Booboo Stewart: Hi! Really, it was more about getting physically prepared. That put me in the right mental space.

DA: Your character, Warpath had the power of flight. If you could have one superpower, what would it be?
BS: To be a wizard and have all the powers.
DA: What was it like being a part of such a talented cast in “X-Men: Days of Future Past”?
BS: Amazing and humbling.
DA: Talking about “X-Men,” are you a comic book fan?
BS: I love graphic novels. “The Crow” would be my favorite.
DA: If you could go on a date with a comic book character, who would it be?
BS: Good question! Maybe Mystique, because she can look however you want her to.
DA: You played Seth Clearwater, a shape-shifter in the “Twilight” movies. How did you get involved with the “Twilight” franchise in the first place?
BS: I was lucky enough to be alerted through MySpace about the role. I went in during callbacks, was the last one seen, and was lucky enough to book the role.
DA: What preparation work did you do to play a shape-shifter?
BS: Similar to Warpath, it started with the physical preparation.
DA: What was it like working with the “Twilight” cast?
BS: Fun. Different from “X-Men” but a great learning experience.
DA: You are a man of many talents, being a stuntman, martial artist, singer/songwriter and actor among others. How did you get into all these?
BS: My dad is in the business and he’s always encouraged us to keep trying new things and to push ourselves.

DA: How do you express yourself differently in acting, singing, writing or martial arts?
BS: I think they all are an extension of me, just in different formats and media.
DA: Off-screen, you did dabble in music for a while. You were in the band “Echoes of Angels” with your three siblings. What can you tell us about your band?
BS: Actually, that was a rock band I had for a time. The three of us performed together as “5L,” my sister Fivel fronted the group. It was fun.

DA: Coming from a creative family with talented siblings, is there a sibling rivalry going on?
BS: No, not at all.
DA: You toured with Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers during the Hannah Montana “Best of Both Worlds” tour. What was that experience like?
BS: Mind-blowing. To be thirteen and performing in front of those crowds was just incredible.

DA: You started out in acting fairly young. What is your secret to avoiding the pitfalls child actors seem to fall into?
BS: Family, good friends and it helps that my dad is my manager. We discuss each move and stay focused.
DA: What advice would you give to child actors transitioning to adult actors?
BS: Don’t try to force it too soon.
DA: You’re an ambassador for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, and you’re also involved with PETA, Four Green Steps, Princess Margaret Hospital for Children and more. How important is charity to you and why have you chosen these particular organizations?
BS: I think everyone should try to give back especially when you are as blessed as we have been.
“REALLY, IT WAS MORE ABOUT GETTING PHYSICALLY PREPARED. THAT PUT ME IN THE RIGHT MENTAL SPACE”
DA: What are you currently working on?
BS: I’m in Canada working on the film “The Descendants.”
DA: Describe your dream project and who would be in it.
BS: I don’t really know yet; ask me again in a year.
DA: Who is your role model?
BS: For acting, that would be Heath Ledger.
DA: One last question, how did you get the nickname Booboo?
BS: Just something my parents called me and it stuck.
