OMEGA introduces the fourth-generation Seamaster Planet Ocean, fronted by Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Glen Powell, celebrating a bold redesign inspired by ocean exploration

Two decades after its debut, OMEGA’s Seamaster Planet Ocean returns with a bold new chapter—a fourth-generation redesign that redefines the brand’s relationship with the sea. More than a technical evolution, the latest Planet Ocean marks a renewed expression of OMEGA’s pioneering spirit shaped by contemporary aesthetics and the unmistakable pulse of the ocean. The campaign is led by actors Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Glen Powell whose energy and range mirror the versatility of the new timepieces.

The 2025 Planet Ocean collection arrives 20 years after the original 2005 release, retaining the iconic orange accents that have become a signature of the line while introducing sleeker silhouettes, newly refined angles and elevated finishing. Every detail reflects a purposeful balance between heritage and progress—the kind of design evolution that acknowledges its past even as it charts a new course forward.

That duality resonates strongly in the campaign itself. Taylor-Johnson and Powell, both known for careers that move fluidly between genres, embody the adaptability of a watch built for both land and sea. Whether in action, drama or romance, they represent a modern versatility that echoes the Planet Ocean’s own transformation. The campaign maintains a sense of quiet confidence, allowing the watches to speak through presence rather than spectacle.

The narrative took on a physical dimension in Miami, where OMEGA hosted a special launch event to unveil the new collection. Set within the sculptural Faena Forum—a striking cylinder wrapped in geometric windows—the venue amplified the architectural sharpness that defines the Planet Ocean’s redesigned form. Inside, the atmosphere was immersive and elemental: marine reflections moved across the minimalist interior, a blue-and-orange palette echoed the watches, and sweeping views of the water reinforced the collection’s maritime roots.

The evening gathered a constellation of OMEGA friends and ambassadors including Colman Domingo, Mondo Duplantis, Antoni Porowski and Diego Boneta, each adding a distinct presence to the celebration. At the center of the room, a full display of the new Planet Ocean models allowed guests to explore each creation’s refined details—from the sculptural cases to the updated straps and bracelets.

OMEGA President and CEO Raynald Aeschlimann highlighted the significance of the collection’s evolution, noting the Planet Ocean’s enduring role in expressing the brand’s spirit of exploration. Celebrating the redesign beside the sea felt instinctive for a watch shaped by maritime discovery, and Miami’s horizon offered a fitting symbol for possibility and ambition.
Glen Powell, newly appointed as an OMEGA Brand Ambassador, spoke about the depth of the brand’s heritage and how strongly it resonates with him. “There’s a modern look to the new watches but at the same time, you know there’s an immense legacy behind it,” he said, reflecting on the balance of past and present that defines the collection. His appearance in the campaign alongside Taylor-Johnson reinforces the themes at play—duality, capability and a self-assured elegance suited to shifting environments.

The fourth-generation Planet Ocean is offered in seven variations, with options in blue, black or the signature orange, paired with rubber straps or stainless-steel bracelets. More than a release, it represents a renewed expression of a modern icon—a timepiece shaped by depth, defined by precision and guided by the enduring call of the ocean.
