Following an incredible season, Inter—officially the Football Club Internazionale Milano and perhaps better known as Inter Milan—became the winners of the 2023-24 season of Italian soccer league Serie A. As is the custom of the league, teams can sew one star on their jerseys for every ten Serie A titles they’ve won. And Inter has just won their 20th scudetto, earning them a second star.

To mark this momentous occasion, Swiss watch brand TUDOR has unveiled a special Black Bay 58 watch bearing the signature colors of Inter—black and blue—to be worn by the club’s players, and also released as as a limited-edition model at the TUDOR Boutique in Milan and Rome as well as all TUDOR points of sale throughout Italy.

It’s worth noting that TUDOR actually has strong ties with the world of soccer, having been the official timekeeper of various prominent clubs, most recently for Inter Miami. This is also not the first time that the brand has released special edition watches dedicated to the sport. With the global popularity of Inter and the significance of its Series A victory this season, the Black Bay 58 “Inter” definitely stands out.

The Black Bay 58 model—named after the year when the famous Reference 7924 aka Big Crown divers’ watch was released—makes for the perfect platform for such a celebratory timepiece. Like the basic model, the Black Bay 58 “Inter” comes in a 39mm stainless-steel case; but here, it encapsulates an exclusive “Inter blue” dial celebrating its namesake soccer club. Two elements make this dial extra special: First is the ombré gradient pattern that fades from blue in the center to black along its peripheries, and then there’s the Inter logo, proudly positioned at six o’clock along with the two stars won by the team.

Another highlight of the watch’s aesthetic package is the “Snowflake” hands, the iconic angular hands that has become a hallmark of TUDOR divers’ watches. To further enhance readability, the hands are treated with Super LumiNova, while the hour markers, hands and minute track of the black and steel bezel are embellished with touches of gold.

Moving outward from the dial we come to the unidirectional bezel with its 60-minute graduated disc, the screw-down winding crown with the iconic TUDOR rose relief and the watch’s “rivet-style” three-link bracelet. The latter is a nod to the riveted bracelets used by TUDOR in the 1950s and 1960s, which featured a distinct stepped design. Alternatively, the metal bracelet can be swapped out for a black jacquard fabric strap bearing an “Inter Blue” stripe.

Of course, the Black Bay 58 “Inter” offers solid timekeeping performance thanks to its Manufacture Calibre MT5402 movement. This chronometer-certified selfwinding movement (which is actually accurate to a degree that is quite a bit above the standards set out by COSC, the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute) also offers a 70-hour power reserve, making it pretty much “weekend proof”: If you take the watch off on a Friday evening, it will still be running perfectly when you pick it up again on the next Monday morning.

And, as mentioned earlier in this story, the Black Bay 58 “Inter” is released as a limited edition timepiece. To be exact, a total of 1908 numbered pieces have been created, as a nod to the year when Inter was founded. As a Black Bay 58 model, this watch offers a solid timekeeping that is rooted in TUDOR’s rich heritage and elevated by the brand’s state-of-the-art craftsmanship; as the Black Bay 58 “Inter,” however, this watch will go down in history as the marker of a fateful victory—and will likely become a highly sought after “grail” for watch collectors and Inter Milan fans alike.
