The latest addition to the Seastar family from Tissot brings a versatile 38mm chronograph in six distinctive variations, combining underwater capability with refined style

For more than seventy years, the Tissot Seastar has embodied the brand’s twin passions for performance and style. First launched in 1952, it was conceived as a robust water-resistant timepiece for those who navigated both sea and city with ease. Now the Swiss watchmaker introduces a fresh chapter in the collection’s story—the Seastar Chronograph 38mm—a perfectly balanced new size that blends sporty utility with refined aesthetics designed to appeal equally to seasoned divers, style-savvy urbanites and the horologically curious.

Six Currents, One Tide

The new 38mm lineup comprises six striking variations, each offering a distinct personality while maintaining the core Seastar DNA. The first model pairs a vertically brushed silver-to-white gradient dial with a stainless steel case and a supple white silicone strap, a composition that catches and refracts light like sunlit ripples on calm water. The second takes a bolder approach, combining a teal brushed dial with a full rose gold PVD case and matching teal silicone strap, a vivid interplay of warm and cool tones that channels the romance of distant shores.

Two models take the Seastar into darker, more expressive waters: both feature all-black PVD finishes, one on a matching silicone strap and the other on a sleek steel bracelet. The collection is rounded out by two stainless steel executions—one with a brushed black dial for understated elegance and the other accented with yellow gold PVD on the bracelet links for a sophisticated two-tone treatment. Collectively the six designs offer a palette of moods from crisp and contemporary to stealthy and dramatic.

Built for Depths and Decades

While its proportions may be more compact than some of its predecessors, the Seastar Chronograph 38mm remains a serious piece of dive-ready engineering. The stainless steel case is rated to 30 bar (300 meters) making it more than capable of accompanying its wearer from a morning swim to an offshore adventure. A unidirectional rotating bezel in colored mineral frames the dial while a screw-down crown and caseback ensure water resistance under demanding conditions.

The chronograph layout is balanced and functional with sub-dials providing precise timekeeping at a glance. Super-luminous hands and hour markers maintain legibility in dim light—whether during a twilight descent beneath the waves or a late-night return to shore. Powering the watch is a Swiss quartz chronograph movement chosen for its precision, reliability and low-maintenance appeal. Each model is offered with either a five-row interchangeable bracelet or a color-matched silicone strap, giving owners flexibility to adapt their Seastar to different environments.

A Pillar in the Tissot Portfolio

The 38mm format positions the new Seastar Chronograph at an accessible yet aspirational point in Tissot’s lineup. It bridges the gap between the brand’s heritage-driven dress watches and its sport-oriented tools, embodying a modern versatility that resonates with a global audience. Tissot’s ability to blend Swiss craftsmanship with competitive pricing has made the Seastar a gateway into serious watch ownership for many—a role this new chronograph continues with distinction.

This versatility also mirrors Tissot’s presence in the worlds of sport and culture. As the official timekeeper for the NBA, MotoGP and the Tour de France, the brand’s watches are tested in arenas where precision is paramount. Its ambassadors—from NBA star Damian Lillard to motorcycling ace Enea Bastianini, Tour de France champion Primož Roglič and acclaimed actors Liu Yifei and Simon Gong—embody the blend of dedication, style and performance that defines the Seastar’s ethos.

A Timepiece for Every Journey

In its new 38mm chronograph form, the Tissot Seastar captures the spirit of exploration without sacrificing elegance. Whether chosen for its deep-diving credentials, its distinctive styling or its connection to a brand steeped in heritage, it is a watch built to accompany life’s many voyages. Calm on the surface yet driven underneath, it is ready to go wherever the wearer dares to venture—from sunlit shallows to midnight depths and every moment in between.
