Roger Dubuis celebrates 30 years of bold innovation and fine watchmaking with the Excalibur Grande Complication—a showcase of technical mastery and expressive design

ROGER DUBUIS EXCALIBUR GRANDE COMPLICATION
Unveiled earlier this year at Watches and Wonders Geneva, the Excalibur Grande Complication marks a bold milestone in Roger Dubuis’ 30-year journey. As its name suggests, this watch exemplifies the pinnacle of the maison’s expertise. Limited to just eight pieces, the watch features a flying tourbillon, a minute repeater that strikes the infamous “devil’s chord” and a perpetual calendar that automatically accounts for leap years and months with 28, 30 or 31 days.
Visually, the biretrograde display pays tribute to Mr. Roger Dubuis’ collaborations with master watchmaker Jean-Marc Wiederrecht in the 1980s, elegantly tracking the day and date across semicircular scales. Encased in a 45mm pink gold case with a sapphire caseback, the watch fuses bold aesthetics with complex mechanics. Every element is engineered to integrate the three complications seamlessly within a refined movement comprising 684 components—an embodiment of Roger Dubuis’ vision of Hyper Horology at its finest.
