Unlike the more formal industry fairs, Geneva Watch Days has built a reputation for being open, lively and collaborative—qualities that play directly into Bvlgari’s DNA. As one of the event’s founding brands, the Roman maison has always used the platform to show how watchmaking can be both innovative and unapologetically stylish. This year was no different. The spotlight fell on four distinct releases: a retrospective of the Octo Finissimo’s record-breaking journey, a minimalist collaboration with artist Lee Ufan, a daring tourbillon with a marble dial and the debut of the Bronzo GMT and Chronograph.
The Octo Finissimo retrospective

Since 2014, the Octo Finissimo has been rewriting the rules of thin watchmaking, notching ten world records along the way. At just 1.95 mm thick, the first tourbillon set the tone; the latest Ultra Tourbillon of 2025 pushes that to an incredible 1.85 mm. The retrospective at Geneva Watch Days traced this entire saga, showing how a design inspired by Rome’s Basilica of Maxentius became a 21st-century icon. Beyond the numbers, what makes the Octo Finissimo compelling is its balance of sharp Italian aesthetics with Swiss mechanical muscle—minimalist in look but radical in execution.

Bvlgari has a history of inviting artists and architects to put their stamp on the Octo. This year’s collaboration comes from Lee Ufan, the Korean-born, Japan-based artist known for his minimalist sculptures and meditative philosophy. His take on the Octo Finissimo pairs a mirror-like dial with a hand-filed titanium case and bracelet, each piece finished by artisans for a slightly different texture. Limited to 150 pieces, the watch runs on the ultra-thin BVL 138 caliber with a micro-rotor and 60-hour power reserve. Flip it over and Lee’s signature is etched into the caseback—proof that this is equal parts timepiece and artwork.

Marble isn’t exactly the easiest material to bring into watchmaking. It’s heavy, brittle and notoriously hard to shape. But Bvlgari thrives on tackling challenges like this. The new Octo Finissimo Tourbillon features a dial carved from deep blue Italian marble, paired with a platinum case measuring only 5.75 mm thick. Inside is the hand-wound BVL 268 caliber with a flying tourbillon, just 1.95 mm thin with a 52-hour power reserve. Only 30 pieces will be made. The effect is striking: a piece of Rome’s history—marble—fused with cutting-edge horology.
The Bronzo collection

The Bvlgari Aluminium has always been a rebel in the watch world, known for mixing aluminum with rubber back in the late ’90s. For 2025, the collection adds bronze to the mix for the very first time. The Bronzo GMT (40 mm) and Bronzo Chronograph (41 mm) both pair sandblasted bronze cases with black rubber bezels and straps. Over time the bronze will develop a patina, giving each watch a unique character. The GMT runs on the automatic B192 caliber with a 50-hour reserve while the Chronograph is powered by the B381 caliber with a 42-hour reserve. One’s made for globetrotters, the other for those who live by precision and pace—both carry serious presence on the wrist.

What ties these releases together is Bvlgari’s ability to straddle design, engineering and cultural storytelling. From the Octo Finissimo’s technical dominance to Lee Ufan’s philosophical artistry, from marble’s Roman symbolism to bronze’s rugged patina, each piece says something about how we live with time. For the modern man, these aren’t just watches—they’re statements. Bvlgari once again shows that in its hands, time isn’t just measured. It’s shaped, refined and worn with confidence.
