Fifty years after its debut, the Bvlgari Bvlgari watch returns in spectacular form. To mark the golden jubilee of this iconic timepiece, Bvlgari has unveiled four new models, each crowned with a marble dial that pays homage to the brand’s Roman heritage while pushing the boundaries of watchmaking design.
First launched in 1975 as a bold gift for Bvlgari’s top clients, the Bvlgari Bvlgari watch was a radical departure from traditional luxury watches—a seamless fusion of jewelry, horology and fashion. Two years later, legendary designer Gérald Genta reinterpreted the design into the brand’s first signature watch collection. With its clean lines and engraved bezel, it became an emblem of Italian sophistication, worn by cultural icons from George Michael to Zendaya.
To celebrate this milestone, Bvlgari reaffirms the watch’s legacy with a quartet of limited-edition models—two in yellow gold, two in rose gold—each featuring a marble dial as unique as a fingerprint. Offered in 26mm and 38mm sizes, these watches mark the first time the Maison has used natural stone dials in the Bvlgari Bvlgari line.

The yellow gold models (Ref. 104111 and Ref. 104112) showcase the rich, forest tones of “Verde Alpi” marble. The 26mm version pairs its deep green dial with diamond hour markers and a quartz movement. The 38mm version, with golden indexes and a larger case, houses the automatic Solotempo BVL 191 caliber with a 42-hour power reserve. Both feature dark green alligator leather straps and engraved casebacks marking the 50-year milestone.
For the rose gold timepieces, Bvlgari turns to a cooler palette. The 26mm model (Ref. 104191) is set with icy “Azzurro Infinito” marble and diamond indexes. The 38mm version (Ref. 104113) features “Blu Incanto,” a deep, atmospheric blue, and is powered by the same automatic movement. Matching alligator straps in shades of blue complete the design with understated elegance.

The use of marble, though visually striking, is technically ambitious. Naturally brittle and veined, marble is rarely used in watchmaking—especially for components as delicate as dials. Bvlgari treats the stone with the same reverence as its finest gems, combining precision engineering with artisan-level finishing to ensure that each dial is not only luxurious but also structurally sound and truly one of a kind.
Inspired by ancient Roman coins, each bezel bears the engraved double logo—Bvlgari Bvlgari—a detail first seen on the Via Condotti storefront in 1934. This signature reinforces the timepiece’s identity while linking it to Rome’s monumental architecture, from the columns of the Pantheon to the enduring grandeur of the Eternal City.
With these marble-dial editions, Bvlgari doesn’t just mark a milestone—it reinterprets a legacy. Merging ancient stone, precious metal and contemporary finesse, the Bvlgari Bvlgari remains a timeless expression of Italian luxury, 50 years on.
