Just a couple of weeks before the D-Day of Baselworld 2020, the Roman Jeweler Bvlgari has decided not to participate in the exhibition. After the very successful LVMH Watch Week earlier this year in Dubai and also considering the actual socio-economic situation with the growing traveling uncertainties of international visitors, the brand has regretfully decided to cancel its participation.
“As said in the past, the main criteria to continue participating to watch fairs will be the timing as well as the costs which today are not consistent with commercial requirements and returns of investments,” explains Jean-Christophe Babin, CEO of the Bvlgari Group. “This decision has not been an easy one, but we believe that the best option for Bvlgari is to go directly to the markets as of March.”
Furthermore, in a context of growing traveling uncertainties of international visitors, Bvlgari will replace it through a series of roadshow for this year’s novelties in its biggest markets to meet the clients and medias who were not present in Dubai earlier this year.
As a final addition, this decision alone does not mean that Bvlgari is definitely leaving Baselworld, as the decision for 2021 and beyond will be made by the end of June.
