<p>Oscar-nominated and widely regarded as one of the defining talents of his generation, Butler has captivated audiences with his performances in “Elvis,” “Dune: Part Two” and “The Bikeriders.” His career has been defined by freedom—selecting roles that challenge conventions, crafting characters with authenticity and collaborating with Hollywood’s biggest names. His fearless approach to his craft and unmistakable personal style resonate with a generation that seeks to carve its own path. That same spirit makes Butler the perfect match for the new “Top Time B31.” “Breitling, for me, is about adventure and pushing the limits of what’s possible,” he says. “The Top Time speaks to the way I’ve always wanted to live my life: free and ready to rock ‘n’ roll. It’s a thrill to be part of the squad.”</p>
<p>Breitling CEO Georges Kern shares his admiration for Butler’s approach to his work. “I spent time with Austin on the campaign set and was blown away by his dedication and attention to detail. He cares about getting everything just right—something we relate to at Breitling.”</p>
<p>Since the 1960s, the Top Time has stood for more than just timekeeping. It has symbolized self-expression and adventure, capturing the free-spirited energy of its era. Willy Breitling’s unconventional chronograph design broke away from traditional watch aesthetics, appealing to motorsport enthusiasts, fashion icons and even secret agents. James Bond famously wore a Q-modified Top Time in “Thunderball” (1965). It was also one of the first chronographs designed to appeal to both men and women, its bold graphic designs gracing magazine pages and the silver screen alike.</p>

<p>Now, the Top Time B31 reimagines that legacy, introducing a time-only series that departs from its chronograph roots while staying true to its unconventional spirit. The classic 38 mm size offers the perfect balance between heritage proportions and modern design, ensuring it fits effortlessly on any wrist. At its heart, the Caliber B31 represents a return to the fundamentals of watchmaking, delivering robust performance in a sleek, modern form. “This is watchmaking distilled to its essentials—pure timekeeping, easy wearability and distinct character,” says Kern.</p>
<p>With applied indexes, a magnified date aperture and a bright orange seconds hand, the Top Time B31 retains its bold design DNA across three striking colorways. It pairs with either a perforated leather strap inspired by the collection’s racing roots or a three-row stainless-steel bracelet featuring an asymmetrical center link, a Breitling signature that enhances wrist presence and lends a sportier feel.</p>
<p>The new Caliber B31, four years in the making, reinforces Breitling’s reputation for technical innovation. Its architecture incorporates the brand’s signature elements: a free-sprung balance wheel for improved precision and a skeletonized bidirectional oscillating weight powering the automatic movement. Visible through the open caseback, its refined details include Geneva stripes and perlage finishes. Rigorously tested to ensure exceptional durability and accuracy, the B31 undergoes the equivalent of 16 years of use before earning its place in a Breitling timepiece. With a 78-hour power reserve and COSC-certified chronometer status, it sets a new benchmark for precision and reliability.</p>
<p>The launch of the B31 marks Breitling’s continued evolution toward exclusively offering manufacture movements. This isn’t just a new caliber—it’s a new era for Breitling. And with Austin Butler leading the charge, the Top Time B31 is ready to define the next generation of modern watchmaking.</p>
