EASY STREET – Conveying a youthful and optimistic energy, Braun Büffel’s fall/winter 2018 collection balances a refreshed spirit and heritage

Braun Büffel’s presented its fall/winter 2018 collection at Kilo lounge in Singapore. The industrial-themed lounge was a fitting venue to showcase the collection as it is inspired by the magnetizing nightlife and underground culture of the ’70s. Braun Büffel’s creative director, fabio panzeri, translated the glamorous era, in particular the music and spirit of the infamous New York club scene of Studio 54, with urban street culture and a touch of rock and roll sensibilities.
While the women’s collection highlighted the ’70s glamorous disco charm, the men’s collection took on an edgier approach with inspiration from the urban street culture of that era. This was the time when the streets of New York saw the birth of an underground creative movement of graffiti artists and musicians that formed the eclectic dynamism that has became synonymous with the city. The metropolitan spirit of the city is also presented through graphic shapes interwoven with distinguishing details of subtle luxury. Capturing the attitude of the Braun Büffel man, the fall/winter 2018 collection is sleek, modern and carefree.
Designed to fulfill the needs of their discerning customers, old and new alike, Braun Büffel presented a comprehensive collection. Crafted in various quality leathers, dark shades dominated the color palette. Black, forest green, ocean blue, whisky brown and deep red are the standout colors that are presented for a bold and masculine statement.

In the tradition of Braun Büffel, a major part of the men’s bag models are dedicated for the office and work. Crafted from medium grain printed calf leather, the Dylan collection is the epitome of modern luxury with minimalistic clean lines, making it the perfect collection for the metropolitan business executive. The Dylan briefcase features a unique side buckle clasp, similar to side waist adjusters found on tailored gentlemen pants in the ’70s. Also crafted from medium grain printed calf leather, the Morrison collection is another sophisticated option for the office with its emphasis on both form and function. Designed in five shape variations ranging from a briefcase to a document holder, the Morrison features a distinctive exterior zip detailing with a new zip puller with leather and metal hardware finishes.
For businessmen who are always on the go, the Neil collection is an ideal choice. Designed for urban commuting, the Neil collection is crafted in water-resistant canvas with semi-vegetable tanned calf leather that is both lightweight and roomy. Meanwhile, for a more youthful option, the Danny collection, in Nappa with fine grain printed milled calf leather, presents a backpack and a cross-shoulder sling bag.

For city adventures or weekend getaways, the Mick collection is perfect to carry essentials from day to evening. Crafted in fine grain milled calf with semi-vegetable tanned calf leather, the Mick features dual tone highlights with exterior zip detailing. Another ideal model for travelling all over the city is the Delos-C collection. With its utilitarian design, the collection features a mesh back panel and padded straps for a comfortable carry, while its spacious interior makes organizing essentials an effortless task. An ode to ’70s street-style hip-hop sportswear, the Blade collection comes with a newly introduced shape, in the form of a drawstring backpack. The Blade features a supple leather finish that is soft to the touch and perfect for city travels.
This season, the homme-m collection, in fine grain printed calf leather, returns with a color palette in homage to the night scene of the ’70s. Packed with function and style, the collection offers a versatile and roomy duffel, a postman bag and a document holder that has a handle on the front for easy wear.
Since 2016, Braun Büffel has initiated a sustainable project within their collections with the Bully and Buffy bags, which feature the brand’s iconic buffalo mascots. Crafted from a composition of the leather cut-offs gathered during the season in various creative ways, the Bully and Buffy collections reinforce the house’s commitment towards sustainability and waste reduction in the industry.

For the fall/winter seasons of 2018, the whimsical adventures of Bully and Buffy takes them to the eccentric era of New York in the ’60s and ’70s where studio 54 nightlife and pop-art movements were all the rage. Bully, for men, comes in the form of the iconic Andy Warhol, while Buffy, the women’s counterpart, pays homage to that era’s “it girl,” Edie Segwick.
Embodying a youthful energy, with its urban attitude and modern luxury, the Braun Büffel’s fall/winter 2018 collection is simply perfect for the modern gentleman.
