Brand Story: Innovation Nation

INNOVATION NATION. Through the new H0 collection, HYT introduces major innovations in microfluidic technology

Looking back through the history of the brand, HYT’s Hydromechanical watchmaking has turned fantasy into reality through the marriage of mechanical and liquid technology inside a wristwatch. By achieving this incredible feat, HYT has shown that no challenge is too big for it. Technically speaking, complex timekeeping mechanisms and liquids aren’t meant to be mixed. But HYT has done exactly that.

Furthermore, by focusing on the visual and emotional possibilities of time flowing as a fluid, HYT brought its watchmaking game into the new millennium, all while continuing to root the brand’s creative process in the very origins of time measurement.

Back To Basic

This time, HYT’s groundbreaking work in fluid technology continues with the new H0 collection. Inspired by pebbles worn smooth by water from a mountain stream, the new H0 watches reinforce the brand’s belief in the fundamental principle that space and time are one. But here’s the twist: For the first time, there is an almost complete dial look with familiar horological functions such as traditional hour, minute and seconds graduations inside the dial.
What else makes the H0 different from other HYT collections? Perhaps most noticeable is how two major elements that every other HYT watch has, namely the lugs and the bezel, have been removed. Then, with a large part of the movement hidden underneath a curved dial—suggesting the concentric ripples formed by drops of water repeatedly falling into the basin of an ancient water clock—HYT is re-engaging with magic and mystery. The minimalist design of the titanium piece focuses the attention on the artistic, spectacular dimensions of the fluid time display.

Specialized Machinery

Each piece in the H0 collection—which comes in Black, Orange or Silver—will be fitted with an exclusive HYT Calibre beating at 28,800VpH with 35 jewels. The bridges are adorned with Côtes de Genève and are visible through the sapphire caseback. A domed sapphire crystal, rubber strap and 30m water-resistance rating across all three models ensures that the H0 is both comfortable and reliable.
The new timepiece features a 48.8mm case with a thickness of 17.9mm as it needs to accommodate the bellows-centered movement. Augmented by a futuristic design, a sub-dial at 12 o’clock shows off the minutes, the bellows at 6 o’clock show the fluid reservoirs while an additional small dial at 2 o’clock displays the power reserve. Lastly, the seconds counter is displayed on another small dial 10 o’clock. This finely balanced assembly is magnified by a sapphire crystal which offers a completely new perspective: a side-on display.
As the first watch brand in history to offer collections which utilize major innovations in microfluidic technology, HYT reiterates its commitment to creating pieces that continuously surprise and challenge at every opportunity with the new H0 collection. Moreover, the H0 is a great option for those just beginning to start their collection with something that’s not only new and fresh, but also gives the wearer an entirely new perspective of time.
