Berluti Launches Its First Ever Logo-Printed Pattern Canvas Collection

Under the helm of artistic director Kris Van Assche, Berluti debuts its first-ever pattern canvas that’s printed with Berluti’s new logo—known as the Signature. The collection comes in a variety of briefcases, cross-body bags, clutches, totes, backpacks and a sailor bag with the pattern printed over black background in shades of slate and lead grey reminiscent of the Parisian landscape.

The numbers are constructed from textured coated fabric that would resist everyday use. Not to mention it wouldn’t be complete with Berluti’s trademark finishing, including leather details topped off with bootmaker studs that bring a metallic sparkle to each piece.

The inspiration that leads to conceiving the new logo came from the archives, taking on the shoe tree that would become the very first pair of shoes by Alessandro Berluti, as well as the strokes of the iconic Scritto motif which pays tribute to Olga Berluti’s art of calligraphy.

Since joining in 2018, it has been Van Assche’s dream to combine a patterned canvas to the brand’s hand-painted Venezia leather. “My idea was to design a printed canvas that would look as if it had always existed in the archives”, says Kris Van Assche. “The more I think of the future, the more I want to anchor it in a historical context. This Signature Canvas creates a bridge between the past and the present.”

Forefronting the launch of the collection is the Nino Signature clutch, which is already available exclusively on Berluti.com.
