Beautiful Contrasts in Alexander McQueen’s Spring/Summer 2022 Menswear Collection

A colorful collection inspired by an English poet and painter William Blake

Earlier this year, British luxury house Alexander McQueen revealed its spring/summer 2022 collection designed by Sarah Burton. The house enlisted models Lucas Dermont, Momo Ndiaye, Robin Bosnjak, Seokmin and Lars Jammaers to star in the season’s campaign. Shot by Paolo Roversi, the photographs gallop from monochrome to a combination of colorful elements in high-contrast and black-and-white backgrounds.

Inspired by English poet and painter William Blake, the latest menswear collection features matching double-breasted suits and pants in blue, a pink suit, and a long coat. As a homage to the artist, a rendition of “Beatrice Addressing Dante from the Car,” a watercolor painting Blake created in 1824-7, is manifested in a set of flowy shirts and pants—one of the highlights of the collection.
