Bally goes folk in its latest collection with Grammy-Award winning music producer Swizz Beatz (Kasseem Dean) and Spanish artist Ricardo Covolo. Named the Bally Collective Curated by Swizz Beatz, the collection was inspired by Swizz Beatz’s vision of “total freedom, the creation with no borders, free spirit.” This was then translated by Covolo by adding symbolism and symmetries taken from folk art. “Working with freedom and no borders means to work with that animal inside of us,” Covolo explains. “These characters are sort of gods or shamans with his/her spirit animal (as totems).” Ranging from clothes to footwear and bags, the pieces are truly exceptional and, in a sense, otherworldly, due to the use of traditional tattoo prints and European religious imagery. This is, undoubtedly, a great addition to Bally’s long line of collaborations.
