Art Basel Will Hold an Online Viewing Room This June

Over 4,000 pieces of art will be virtually on display

Although the 2020 edition of the Swiss art fair has been cancelled, Art Basel is back with its second edition of Online Viewing Rooms. The international art organization has launched its first virtual fair last March for replace its annual Hong Kong exhibition, which has been called off due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The second edition of Art Basel’s Online Viewing Rooms will take place from June 19 to June 26, with a VIP preview from June 17 to June 19. This time, there will be 281 galleries from 35 countries from around the globe participating, with a total of 4,000 works from the Modern to Post-War and Contemporary periods presented online. Beyond just paintings and sculptures, drawings, installations, photography as well as video and digital works will also be presented online.

The Online Viewing Rooms will be accessible via Art Basel’s website and the Art Basel App (available for iOS and Android devices).
