A couple of days ago, from August 16 to 18, 2024, Marriott Bonvoy turned Bali into a pulsating hub of music, vibrant energy, and artistic flair with the return of Dissolve Weekend. This year’s event was nothing short of spectacular, with three iconic properties—R Bar at Renaissance Bali Uluwatu Resort & Spa, Woobar at W Bali – Seminyak, and KulKul Beach House at The Laguna, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Nusa Dua—each hosting unforgettable experiences. As we immersed ourselves in the festivities, we witnessed how Dissolve Weekend has raised the bar for music and entertainment on the island of the Gods.
From the moment we stepped into R Bar, Renaissance Bali Uluwatu Resort & Spa, on Friday evening for a sundowner session to kickstart the weekend, we knew we were in for a treat. The sunset over the coastline created a magical atmosphere, combined with the expertly crafted cocktails by renowned mixologist Sebastian Von Arx, the Bar & Operations Manager of Segno Bali and one of the 25 finalists of 50 Best Bars The Blend Scholarship 2023, set the perfect mood for a night of dancing and good vibes. His bespoke cocktails were the highlight of the evening. DJ Ona Nara, DJ Katze, Buenos Aires’ DJ LuN, and R Bar’s resident DJ Aswin Prayudi kept the energy high until the early morning hours, creating a laid-back yet electrifying start to the weekend.
On Saturday, the action moved to Woobar, W Bali – Seminyak. The iconic venue was packed with people eager to experience the Indonesian sensation Dipha Barus. DJs Nanda and Wilson set the perfect tempo leading up to the night’s headliner, which delivered an electrifying performance, combining traditional Indonesian instruments with his House-heavy tunes. The crowd went wild as they danced and sang along to his infectious beats. The flair bartender Dodoh, known as the head mixologist of Bangkok’s acclaimed Revolucion Cocktail, also showcased his impressive cocktail-making skills, which was a sight to behold. It’s safe to say the atmosphere was unforgettable.
Next, to wind down the weekend, KulKul Beach House at The Laguna, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Nusa Dua, offered a more serene atmosphere without losing the magic. The elegant Sunday brunch was complemented by Marina Kishida’s expertly crafted cocktails, hailing from the prestigious Gold Bar, The Tokyo EDITION, Toranomon, one of the World’s 50 Best Bars, and served against the backdrop of Bali’s stunning coastline. The afternoon flowed into the evening with soulful music by DJ Allyn, saxophonist Yudo Saxo, DJ Ona Nara, and DJ Evie, providing a perfect end to a dynamic weekend.
