For the first time in Asia, American street artist Burton Machen is going to exhibit his Portraits Project. The exhibition kicks off at Singapore’s Vue Privée gallery on September 10.
Burton Machen is a U.S.-based street artist who photographs unique street art and urban decadence in big cities such as Los Angeles and New York. His recent work, PORTRAITS PROJECT involves circulating a series of human portraits in public areas and documenting the “evolution” that the portraits went through as passersby, other street artists and the weather affects them.
In doing so, Machen hopes to capture the public’s sentiment that he thinks is hidden underneath the ‘conversations’ that people and the portraits had.
