In the picturesque setting of the equestrian arena at La Garde Républicaine in Paris, Jonathan Anderson presented his latest creations for the Loewe Men&#8217;s Spring/Summer 2024 collection. The show&#8217;s setting featured three water fountains designed by artist Lynda Benglis, who is known for pushing the boundaries of sculpture with her innovative approach to form and materials.

Inspired by Benglis, Jonathan Anderson aimed to challenge conventional boundaries by exploring perspective and its impact on our perceptions and preferences. The collection masterfully transformed the ordinary into the extraordinary and the subtle into something bold by utilizing elongation, expressive gestures and innovative fabrication techniques.

At first glance, the collection seems quite straightforward, with blazers, coats, banker shirts, knitted polos, twin-sets, argyle knits, jeans and chinos. However, these seemingly plain garments deceive the eye with their intricate and twisted designs. Anderson cleverly plays with proportions, utilizing elongation to further emphasize the study of perspective. The color palette ranges from soft pastel to blues, black and khakis, providing a balanced and sophisticated feel to the collection. However, it is the crystals that are truly making the collection shine, literally.

Complementing the collection are round-toe Chelsea boots, sandals, ballet shoes and oversized bags like the suede Pebble bucket and Puzzle Fold totes. These accessories add an additional layer to the exploration of proportions, completing the overall vision of the collection.
