FEARLESS SOCCER STAR. TAG Heuer has recently announced Tim Howard, the goalkeeper for the US Men’s National Soccer team, as its new brand ambassador
Although soccer may not be as popularly received than other sports like basketball or baseball in the US, it doesn’t mean that players of the US Men’s National Soccer Team aren’t well received in other parts of the world. One example is Tim Howard, the goalkeeper for the US Men’s National Soccer Team, who has had a spectacular soccer career. Apart from being the starting goalkeeper for the 2010 and 2014 World Cup teams, he has gone on to be signed to two of the top English Premier League clubs; Manchester United F.C. and Everton F.C., playing for 13 seasons. Most recently Howard led the U.S. Men’s National Soccer Team to victory as they won the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup. With his list of accolades, no wonder TAG Heuer was interested in taking him on as its new ambassador.
Kilian Muller, President of TAG Heuer North America, says, “We are thrilled to have Tim Howard as a representative of TAG Heuer. It requires a special fearlessness to be a goalkeeper in professional soccer and Tim is one of the most daring. He performs his best when under pressure and in doing so embodies the #Don’tCrackUnderPressure spirit of TAG Heuer.”
Howard adds, “I’m proud to be a brand ambassador for TAG Heuer, one of the most iconic luxury sport brands in the world. We share the same dedication to precision and commitment to excellence under pressure, which makes this partnership a great fit. I’m really looking forward to working together.”
The announcement of the partnership between TAG Heuer and Tim Howard was at the same time as the unveiling of special Major League Soccer dials for the Connected Modular 45, TAG Heuer’s second generation smartwatch. The Connected Dials will feature all 22 Major League Soccer clubs, allowing fans to pick their favorite teams and customize the dial display using the Connected Modular 45. Feedback for the looks of each dial were obtained by interviewing top players of each team. The Major League Soccer Connected Dials are now available at the Google App Store.
