Apparently, this watch is unattainable
Back in March, Rolex introduced the latest version of its highly popular Daytona watches. Dubbed Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona, the timepiece is currently generating a buzz among watch enthusiasts.
The reason? Because almost nobody can get their hands on one.
The new watch is priced at US$12,400, but that doesn’t deter would-be customers. The fact that Rolex only makes the watch in such a limited amount doesn’t even scare away most Rolex fans. As a result, the waiting list grows longer and longer. In one of its articles, New York Times mentions that one will probably have to wait for five years before one can finally own Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona.
So what makes it so special? Well, for one, it’s a Daytona. First launched in 1963, Rolex’s Daytonas are famous as one of the best chronographs in the world. As a tribute to the 1965 model, the new version is also completed with a patented monobloc Cerachrom bezel, making it resistant to corrosion and almost scratch-proof.
So what do you think? Does this watch deserve all the buzz?
