THE CHOSEN GENTLEMAN. Givenchy has recently announced that British actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson will be the new face for its Gentleman Givenchy Fragrance campaign
To take the place of Australian actor Simon Baker as the previous face for Gentleman Givenchy, the French fashion house has chosen Golden Globe-winning English actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson to embody the fragrance. Although the full details of the campaign are still under wraps, Givenchy recently announced the news on their official Instagram account, posting a black and white image of the actor and stating that the campaign will start in August.
Although being on screen since the age of six, the British actor finally shot to fame following his outstanding performance in the 2009 movie “Nowhere Boy” playing a young John Lennon. Superhero movie fans may better remember him as the powerless superhero “Kick-Ass,” or more recently in the Marvel Sequel “Avengers: Age of Ultron” as Quicksilver. Last year Taylor-Johnson was awarded a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in the movie “Nocturnal Animals.”
The choice for Taylor-Johnson to embody the French fashion house’s iconic fragrance for men, as stated by Givenchy Parfums CEO Romain Spitzer, was because he was a versatile artist who knows how to do many things. Spitzer has also praised the many talents of Taylor-Johnson, not only his acting but also his ability to dance and sing, which begs us to question, what will he be doing in the upcoming campaign?
