CITY LOVE. For a clothing brand that takes its inspiration from the sea, it’s been pretty much in Nautica’s DNA to always want to make a splash. But this spring/summer, it aims to create the biggest waves
As spring/summer 2016 arrives, a new spirit has sprung inside Nautica. The American brand introduces a new approach to design that is inspired by its roots in New York City, where the urban jungle coexists with the sea. “Inspired by the sea, designed in the city,” the brand exclaims.
The result is a menswear collection made for the modern, practical man who commutes daily with gadgets in his hands. In Nautica’s words, the “Modern Explorer.”
Engineered pockets and inverted pleats are added to accommodate said gadgets. The brand is also introducing new fabrics—high-twist poly and water-repellent cotton nylon—for enhanced strength and protection against the elements.
The collection also comprises sweaters and athleisure pieces such as jogger pants and track jackets.
