A NEW CONQUEST. Refining the power of quartz, Longines brings back the Conquest V.H.P. collection that offers an extreme level of accuracy
Although a watch with quartz movement is somewhat frowned upon by mechanical watch purists, what Longines has been able to bring to the table in the past is a major achievement. To differentiate itself from the many cheap quartz watches flooding the market, the winged hourglass brand had to offer something different yet totally attractive. More than just offering a better build and better performance, Longines also offered a high level of precision. In 1984, the quartz caliber of the first Conquest V.H.P. (Very High Precision) provided a tolerance of ± one minute every five years, making the watch 10 times more accurate than a classic quartz watch.
Today, the new Conquest V.H.P. represents the ultimate step in the quartz precision worn on the wrist. It is equipped with a movement developed by the ETA manufacturing company exclusively for Longines. The movement ensures the display of hours, minutes and seconds to an accuracy of ± five seconds/year. Another special feature of the Conquest V.H.P. is the uniquely named “Magic Crown,” designed to help set the time. Although you can set the time traditionally, with this new feature you can advance or go back an hour with a swift turn of the crown.
