Lacoste scores a match point with its 2016 Roland Garros capsule collection
Lacoste‘s got its hands full this year. It was only last month when the clothing brand unveiled the uniforms it had designed for the French athletes competing in Rio 2016 Olympics, and now Lacoste is already introducing another sports-related project.
This new project isn’t exactly new, because Lacoste has been working with the French Open for more than 40 years now, creating one activewear collection for the competition after another.
In 2016, the collaboration continues with another Roland Garros capsule collection with designs that are so chic, cool and, most importantly, unmistakably French. The men’s collection consists of sweatshirts, T-shirts, piqué cotton polo shirts, shirts, baseball caps and leather goods in gray, white and navy blue. Playful patterns and graphics also make an appearance.
Our favorite piece has to be the sweatshirt with a silhouette of René Lacoste on it (the women’s collection has Suzanne Lenglen’s silhouette). Surrounding the silhouette is one of the legendary tennis player’s famous sayings, “Silence s’il vous plait.”
