If that now-viral video of Tokyo 2020 Olympics doesn’t get you excited about Japan, this probably will
Here’s good news for us living in South East Asia. Japan-originated department store Isetan is set to open “ISETAN The Japan Store Kuala Lumpur,” in Malaysia at the end of October 2016.
Now, these days, we know Isetan as that awesome place where designers offer their exclusive capsule collections. While it seems that the Kuala Lumpur store won’t be housing those collections, we think it will still satisfy your obsession with Japanese culture and products.
A part of Japanese government’s “Cool Japan” program (which is basically aimed to promote everything Japan to the world), the store will be divided into six floors; each of which bearing a different theme. Japanese sake, beer and whiskey are on the lowest floor (LGF); fashion, art and technology on the next level (GF); fashion culture on 1F; lifestyle products on 2F; bookstore on 3F; and lastly a restaurant that will open in January 2017 on 4F.
Occupying a 11.000-square-meter space, the store will be located at LOT 10 Shopping Centre, 50 Jalan Sultan Ismail, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
A similar store will also open in Paris, France at the end of September 2016.
