Hermès‘ new pocket watch contains the beast in the beauty
As the name suggests, the dial features an image of a panther prowling a snow-filled ground, which is derived from an illustration by artist Robert Dallet, who collaborated with the Maison in the 1980s. The appearance of the feline is in tune with Hermès’ 2016 theme, which is “Nature at full gallop.”
The panther is the only element of the watch dial that is not engraved; in fact, it’s a miniature enamel that is painted using the “Grand Feu” enameling technique. It is said that it takes up to 25 firing cycles to perfect the white gold dial.
The watch comes with a gold case and transparent case back that reveals the movement inside: Ultra-thin 2.6MM H1950 Calibre with a 42-hour power reserve and automatic winding.
A matt havana alligator strap and a matching pouch complete this incredible pocket watch.
