Haider Ackermann is Berluti’s New Creative Director

The designer is replacing Alessandro Sartori who left the French brand for his previous employer at Ermenegildo Zegna

By now we should know that, most rumors in the fashion industry end up to be true. One such rumor is designer Haider Ackermann‘s appointment as Berluti‘s new Creative Director, which has been confirmed by the brand on its official website.

“I am very happy to welcome Haider at Berluti, his talent and creative commitment make him the perfect choice for this position,” says Antoine Arnault, the Chief Executive Officer of Berluti. And the feeling is mutual. “I am very honored to join Berluti,” admits Ackermann. “This house stands for the essence of luxury menswear and embracing this new adventure inspires me.”

Ackermann, who founded his own label in 2003, has a design philosophy that leans toward “modern” and “casual,” so it’s interesting to see what he will bring to a traditional brand like Berluti. Expectations are high, and Ackermann still has around three months to fulfill them, as he’s scheduled to show his first collection for Berluti in January 2017 during Paris Men’s Fashion Week.
