ZAC OF ALL TRADES. Zac Efron sheds his adolescent past and grows into his role as one of Hollywood’s up-and-coming male leads

Looking at him today, it’s easy to forget that Zac Efron was once known almost exclusively as the star of Disney’s “High School Musical.” His transformation from teen heartthrob into mature Hollywood icon is particularly visible as he shapes up for his role in the upcoming “Baywatch” movie. Put simply, he’s now a clean-eating hunk with muscles on his muscles who can (almost) rival his co-star in the remake, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
Still, despite the fact that he’ll be known for quite a long time for a role that requires him to be shirtless most of the time, Efron also plays the fashion game like a seasoned pro.
On the red carpet, Efron tends to favor an old-school Americana look based on the gray suit. He is often seen adding small and decidedly modern touches like skinny ties or the occasional boutonnière; but in the end, he rarely strays far from his signature slim-cut monochrome ensemble. Another one of Efron’s trademark styling preferences is layering—which is naturally quite useful as we start to see the first signs of fall. There’s the usual mix of coats and buttoned shirts, as well as a plethora of leather gear and down jackets for contrast.

While it’s easy to write all this off as just another Hollywood celebrity with a good stylist, Efron’s passion for fashion (or at least his actual sense of style) runs much deeper than what we might glimpse from his public appearances. Case in point: Ex-girlfriend Sami Miro credits Efron and his personal stylist for bringing her into fashion design. Her personal clothing line is now famously a favorite of actress and singer Selena Gomez, who pre-ordered her entire first collection.
As he embraces his stature as a starting player in the big leagues of acting, Efron also demonstrates that the former Disney kid is now a bona fide Hollywood gentleman. And he certainly knows how to dress like one.
