BACK TO NATURE. The colder season calls for an abundance of knitwear in high fashion, yet none does it quite like Etro
The purveyor of fine Italian style and wear, whose signature paisley pattern remains season after season, is referring back to “State of Nature” for fall/winter ’16/’17.
In practice, it has gentrified humble knitwear pieces—like fisherman’s sweaters, turtlenecks and pullovers—with shaggy hemlines, calling to mind the outlines of some natural leaves. On the runway, these essentials lent a chic feel to otherwise unassumingly thick ensembles.
Speaking of Etro’s runway show, this season marks the modeling debut of Gerolamo Etro, the brand founder’s grand son (below photo).
