Dolce & Gabbana’s Light Blue is not only famous for being the brand’s signature fragrance, but also for its ad campaign
Some of the key points in the campaign includes: David Gandy in white speedos, Bianca Balti in white bikini, the blue Mediterranean sea in the background and Mario Testino behind the lens. The campaign has been recreated for several years now, but those key points have never changed.
Dolce & Gabbana recently unveiled Light Blue’s latest campaign, and it’s not what we expected at all.
Gone is the summery Mediterranean sky! Gone are the speedos and bikini! Gandy and Balti are now photographed (still by Testino) with a snowy mountain in the background. The two models are now seen wearing ski wear and warm clothes; although they don’t seem to bother to button their tops, so we don’t know how effective the outfits would be.
With its entirely new look, the campaign offers a new possibility to the fragrance. It’s always been known as a summer scent, but the new campaign will probably drive people to associate it to the colder season as well.
