Trying to make it as an actor in the city of angels is not an easy task for anyone. Despite having a few roles under ones belt, actors still have to do their best to prove that they have that special something that others are missing. We chat with actor Christian James as he tells his tale of making it in the world of showbiz. Telling us about the lessons he learned along the way, the roles that have left a stamp on him and some other random stuff.

DA MAN: Hi, Christian. Thank you for having us. How are you doing? 
Christian James: Doing Great! Thanks for chatting with me!
DA MAN: In your career, which came first for you, the modeling or the acting? 
Christian James: Acting was my first passion, modeling came shortly after I got started. It hasn&#8217;t been a huge part of my career but I enjoy it.
DA MAN: How do you see yourself now, more as an actor with modeling experience or a model who can act? 
Christian James: As I did start in acting, I definitely see myself as an actor with the Modeling experience.

DA MAN: Nowadays, people have been known to do crazy (and/or risky) things on camera, just to get noticed. How far do you think you would be prepared to go for your career? 
Christian James: I don&#8217;t plan on having to make a decision such as that one. I’ll do my best by just studying, continue to take classes and give the best damn performance I can.
DA MAN: With the boom of social media and seen as a huge thing. Do you think that your social media presence plays a role in your career? 
Christian James: I would be lying if I said it wasn&#8217;t a factor in today&#8217;s day and age, but I personally feel this social media train is slowing down. At the end of the day it all depends on the talents you have and how you can use it to your full potential.

DA MAN: Would you say that your modeling experience has helped you in your acting career or vice versa? 
Christian James: Acting definitely helps with modeling. Understanding what you are trying to show is key!
DA MAN:  What is your state of mind when you go for a modeling gig? Do you do the same thing to get into character when acting? 
Christian James: They are pretty similar, I go in and have fun with it!

DA MAN: You have quite a number of acting roles. Out of the many characters you’ve played who would you relate to most and why? 
Christian James: I actually just finished a film where I play someone who is very similar to me, but you all will have to wait till Spring to find out just who that is.
DA MAN: From the roles that you’ve played, which character did you learn most from? 
Christian James: Kit, playing Kit was just an invaluable experience that taught me more than I could have expected.

DA MAN: Looking at your fashion shoot for DA MAN, you have an outstanding physic. Did you always have a healthy body or did you have to work hard to get it? What is your secret? 
Christian James: To be honest, I wasn&#8217;t always the healthiest. I was out of shape when I graduated high school. But I credit my lifestyle change mainly to CrossFit. It was the kick in the ass I needed to get up and get myself back into shape again.
DA MAN: What is your go to sport and why? 
Christian James: HOCKEY!!! I’ve played the sport for 15years and it&#8217;s the best sport out there!

DA MAN: If you weren’t in your current line of work, what would probably be doing? 
Christian James: If I wasn’t in front of the camera I would probably be behind the camera doing something to get my name out there.
DA MAN: What is the best piece of advice that has ever been given to you? 
Christian James: Don&#8217;t fake it, and &#8220;Shutup, and listen&#8221;
DA MAN: Where would your dream destination be for either a photoshoot or a film shoot and why? 
Christian James: Sweden. For some reason it appeals to me and whenever asked this question I&#8217;ve always said that, so I’ll just stick with it.
