Internet star Cameron Dallas first tweeted his wish to be a Calvin Klein model five years ago
Model and actress Rebecca Romijn recently criticized social media supermodels like Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid, referring to them as “not true supermodels.” But that didn’t stop Calvin Klein from appointing another internet star to be the face of the brand’s ad campaign.
Meet Cameron Dallas, a 21-year-old Vine sensation with more than 20 million followers on social media (that includes Instagram, Twitter, Vine, YouTube and Snapchat). Together with 17-year-old female model Stella Lucia, Dallas has been tapped to front Jack Pierson-shot Calvin Klein Jeans‘ new limited-edition all-white capsule collection, making him a member of the brand’s squad with the likes of Jenner and Justin Bieber.
His appointment has somehow been expected, especially since Dallas was invited to attend the brand’s runway show in Milan earlier this year, where he managed to create havoc when his die-hard fans flocked the venue just to see a glimpse of him.
But Dallas wouldn’t have expected this five years ago. In a seemingly random tweet that was spotted by Huffington Post Canada, he mentioned his dream to be a Calvin Klein model.
I want to be a Calvin Klein model.
