Back to Basics – Kris Van Assche started his tenure in Berluti with a clean slate. Designed as a prologue to his first runway show held last January, Berluti’s spring/summer 2019 collection adopts the idea of establishing the very essentials in every man’s wardrobe.
Furthermore, the collection embraces both tailoring—two-button suit jackets, white poplin shirts, black and white tuxedos—and sportswear—bomber jackets, varsity jackets and tracksuits. Van Assche also utilized the new “Berluti 1895 Paris” logo on T-shirts, jackets and sweatshirts.
As a nod to his original calling as a shoemaker, there is no shortage of leather and footwear. Most notable was the iconic Alessandro oxford shoe, which was introduced in a blue and red colorway.
Van Assche also delivered compelling chunky sneakers, named Gravity, which will definitely grab the attention of sportswear enthusiasts all around the world.
